The Wise Sayings of Solomon

There was a man in the history of humanity whose name became a synonym for wisdom. He was a king, the legendary ruler Solomon, who successfully led his nation to its highest splendour, wealth and prosperity.

“Without vision a people perishes.

“Knowledge is of more value than gold.

.

“A fool is wise in his eyes.”

Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes.

.

Do not rebuke mockers, or they will hate you; rebuke the wise, and they will love you.

“Whoever stubbornly refuses to accept criticism will suddenly be broken beyond repair.”

“The wise in heart will receive teaching, but a fast talking fool will become nothing.

.

One man pretends to be rich, yet has nothing; another pretends to be poor, yet has great wealth.

It is better to be poor and walk in integrity than to be stupid and speak lies.

He who hides hate has lying lips, and he who talks to hurt people is a fool.

.

“The tongue has the power of life and death.”

“Words kill, words give life; they're either poison or fruit--- YOU choose.”

“Your own soul is nourished when you are kind; it is destroyed when you are cruel.”

.

“A wise son makes a glad father, But a foolish son is the grief of his mother.”

“Listen to your father who begot you, And do not despise your mother when she is old.”

.

“Give me the gift of a listening heart.”

“As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.”

Better the anger of a friend than the kiss of an enemy.”

.

“I found the one my heart loves.”

.

“All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full.”

.

There is a time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance.”

For everything there is a season, and a time for very purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to break down, and a time to build up, a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak.”

“Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.”

.

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.”

.

If you are honest, you will live life safely. But if you are dishonest, you will get hurt.”

Kindness and faithfulness keep a king safe, through kindness his throne is made secure.”

Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.

Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.”
